ICT Equipment
Memory Sticks
We keep four USB memory sticks for kids to use in the classroom. Sometimes the network goes down when kids are trying to save to their own folders or they have trouble accessing printers from certain computers, so the memory sticks are a troubleshooting tool that saves teacher time and student complaint!! Stopping them from getting lost however has been problematic so hopefully this will help. Four soft toys attached to the sticks
MP3 Players
We've got a lot of mp3 files with audio recordings of novels in our room, so we load up 5 mp3 players and they're available for kids to use at RED (read every day session). Again, keeping ICT equipment from getting lost (or 'permanently borrowed'!!) and also getting kids to use them with care can be tricky, so we have a pencil case for each player.
Each one is a different colour so it's easier to tell when one is missing and identify who last had it. The pencil cases are big enough for the player and for a copy of the novel so the kids can read along, which we really encourage.
