Learning Strategies
What are some of the classroom procedures, tricks and elements that help us optimize our learning?
Concentration Cubicle
I've found these a great tool enabling kids to block out distraction. Sometimes you just need to focus and put your whole attention into it and these folders help. Kids enjoy using them too. They are made just by taping two manilla folders together. Find an easy place for the kids to 'grab and go' and don't be afraid to mandate their use in certain circumstances. Sometimes just one or two of the class may need them, sometimes everyone will need them, such as when we're doing our weekly 20 sum timed challenge in maths. I've noticed the kids lately have been using more than one to basically build a cubby around themselves, including a roof!
