Daily Screens
I've really taken off with 'Daily Screens' this year. (2019) Inspired by walking past a fellow teacher's room every day last year and seeing the lovely graphics and learning intentions on his screen (thanks Sam), I decided to do the same this year. Using Google slides, the Daily Screen lays out what's on for the day with learning intentions, activities, all our routines, special events and (importantly) anything that will interrupt our routine. For a while I kept up using the visual timetable as well but it's now become redundant. I make sure I have each day's version on the tv screen ready when the kids come in. Kids often like to click through the slides to see what's on for the day, and often make suggestions and requests for activities and learning. Many slides are used repeatedly each week. Most days have around 14/15 slides - some days more, some days less. Below is a stack of samples from this year so far (to June 2019)
