Smile Break
Smile breaks do just that - give the kids a break and an open invitation to smile, to enjoy, to marvel at our wonderful world. I've used them in lots of different ways - for a break during a session, waiting for the bell to go at the end of the day, while the kids are eating playlunch, for a cool down after play. The great number of them indicates how much the kids love them and ask for more. (Also, how much I enjoyed making them) I've also found them to be great stimuli for writing, vocabulary development, oral language extension and springboards for great discussion.
