Take Home Books
Our school has adopted the Fountas and Pinnell book levelling for assessment P-6. In the junior grades we've always had our books levelled by Reading Recovery levels which is really, really specific and great for reading recovery but perhaps a bit too specific for sending books home with kids for nighty reading and enjoyment. We decided to reorganize our take home books using the F&P letter system but we've kept the reading recovery levels as well. So I needed to find RR and F&P comparisons. Turns out, there's not many out there and some of them contradict each other. So I've done the best I can and devised this one. It's NOT perfect! And we may make changes over time. But for sending books home for kids to read, I think it's a good fit.

Due to popular demand (how pretentious does that sound?!!!) here are the book box labels for 2012. People seemed to think I'd done something clever with blackboard paint, but it's all an illusion, and just a word doc!!
