Another Handwriting goals sheet made for this year's grade 3/4 (2016)
Handwriitng Assessment 3n4 (1 pg word doc) After writing a passage of text, the goals the children had achieved were highlighted and now they're working on the ones that weren't highlighted. When they show me consistent evidence of these they can highlight them. |
Jokes and Poems to copy
I always think it's more fun to do handwriting practise when what you're writing has meaning or is entertaining. It just gives the job more purpose and reinforces the pleasures of written language. I made these for a bunch of Grade 2s last year (2015) and am now using them with Gr 3 & 4 as they work through their handwriting goals. I especially like the jokes ones because they do a lot to teach kids about how language can be played with, double meanings and the like.
We laminated these sheets, the students would choose (with a lot of giggling and 'here, listen to this one') and copy them into their own books.
